Ok...
I spent the last two months working in Erie Pa., a three hour drive from home.
I have been spending the weekends remodeling the new studio gallery trying to get it up and running. I have an opening show scheduled for July 25th and 26th. I think I managed to put up about 180 works so far, only a fraction however are framed. This show is part of the Irondequoit Artists Art Trail. It will be my first testing of the waters at this location.
We celebrated my granddaughter's birthday at the cabin a few weeks ago. I am sure someone took pictures. I haven't seen any yet.
I discovered, I am not really good at drywall. or rather, I am very amateurish at it. I don't think I really want to get good at it either.
Working out of town set me way back in my gardens. I have been trying to catch up this past week, now that the Erie job is completed. It only takes me 22 minutes to get to the current project. My beans and berries are doing great, but I never got to plant most of the things I usually do. The Ecuadorean Insanity Ghost Pepper plant I grew from a seed I procured on my top secret international roofing mission is doing great though, now that it is getting hot outside.
This weekend I am taking dad to camp to see if I can get any work out of him. Just because he is 79 is no excuse for him to lollygag about. If he gets all the chores done I have lined up for him, I might let him try to catch a fish in the pond.
Now you's is all caught up with what's goings on 'round here.

Good luck with the show.
I am 80. lol i think you are right, however. I get away with too much at home. My wife is worried about my aches and pains.
I am totally unmechanical. My has has lots of it.
Anyway, I hope your show does well or did well and you can catch up at home.
Have a great 4th.

At least you have your dad still alive, (mine passed away in 2000). What would I say to him if he was alive? Please dad don't continue gambling.....
I have been awol but I have a lot of material to write about. I am late in activating my web site but xanga is still cool.
Sounds like you are busy with good things!
Enjoy the cabin and your time with your Dad!
And a Happy 4th to you and your family!
Firecracker-HUGS!!!
Welcome back! Now that you are closer to home, mainly the garden, I'm sure things will become a breeze for you....
I'm sure your dad will do just fine at the camp, getting things done that needs doing....
The finished work, will help him to really enjoy the fishing afterwards!
drywalling is not fun, in our estimation, but we are thankful for those who do it well ~
Good to see you again
i just drove thru PA the other day.
I'm glad you are getting some cabin time, and I hope your art premiere at that location goes well.
22mns vs 3 hours does seem a bit better of a drive to work, unless of course you enjoy the time in the car, with the radio, viewing the great wide world. I enjoy traveling, but sometimes there isn't enough hours in the day already it seems.
OK, I guess you have been too busy to blog. I'm glad to know you are working closer to home now. Dry wall is over rated. I think the rustic look would be fine - especially for an art studio. Please post photos of the opening! And good luck!
Welcome back! Good to know you're working closer to home now. Enjoy the cabin!
Welcome back John. I have missed you. You have a grand daughter! How absolutely delightful. Have you talked about her in the past? I wish I had a grand daughter. Will you be posting pictures here? No? That's okay, I can understand if you don't. I feel reluctant to post my family's photos too, especially the grand kids. Didn't use to mind that too much in the past, but now I am really afraid of internet.
Dry walling doesn't seem like a lot of fun. it takes certain types of people I guess, to sing while doing dry walls!
If your dad is 79, I am sure he is in very good health to go with you to the camp and fish, so I doubt if he will mind helping you out.
