Wool Socks
She sacrificed everything
her figure
her fingers
her career
her bonesShe shepherded selflessly
with milk
with music
with lessons
with combsHer love was undying
in tears
in laughter
in worship
in homeShe knitted hearts together
for God
for country
for friends
for foesMother gave us warmth and light
at birth
at supper
at death
at the throne

I must learn how to knit socks!
I hope you give this to her for Mother's Day!
What a wonderful poem! Good mom's are like soft, comfortable, warm socks.

Perfect poem for your Mom for Mother's Day...or just any day.
HUGS and Happy Whee-kend!!!
She gave you the warmth of the love like the socks that we wear when we are cold. Lovely poem and a great tribute to mother.
Lovely!
That is so beautiful, but....
I would not have called it wool socks....I would have called it Mom....
You, too, my friend have such a beautiful talent, of putting words together, filling them with meaning from the heart....
this is a poem you can give to mom now.
That is beautiful.
