  • Ghosts

    "I do believe in spooks!"

    There she was
    lingering in my memory wells
    though we had never met
    hovering in my sensory cells
    like an angel heaven sent

But she never went to heaven
and the earth was too cold
    Her shell was all shattered
But her heart was pure gold

    There she was
    weaving through my living room
As though she owned the place
Called away from life too soon
a maiden bathed in royal grace

And she wouldn't go to hell
nor the sky so far above
The look upon her face it tells
She slipped before she fell in love

    Here she is
dreaming in my warm soft bed
    tucked away beneath the sheets
my pillow melding with her head
    in silent slumber she retreats

    And she can't go home
    Her time has drifted past
There is no place left to roam
She has found her peace at last.

  • I love this poem!
And I love the images it conjures up!
    HUGS!!! :-)

  • Ghosts have a way of taking over the feelings and memories... but sleeping in your bed? That has to be a very welcome gesture by you. How accommodating can you get!?

  • Hmmm, now if there is a lady ghost in your bed, where will you sleep if you bring a heart beating woman to stay the night? And which one would be the more jealous?
Nice poem without the real life complexities.

  • A Ghost, or.....A Dream, of how you wish you could be.......Beautifully written......

  • At first thought, where are you going to sleep?:) An interesting poem with a friendly ghost but it would be best if she just stayed there for her new home.

  • A very friendly ghost and one that is welcomed - sounds like your muse!!
