Car Pet
When I sit here, you look so pretty in your coat and hat so white
All the time we spent listening to the birds and squirrels chatter
All the time we spent watching the fat man down the road tatter
Telling his garden toads to stay out of the road or go all splatterIts was a warm summer day on the worm farm
your white coat turned grey then dark brown
I spied your eyes as all my fears trickled down
how could something so playful harm this clownWhile I sit here you look so thrifty with your swollen heart so tight
wrapped in your nonchalant embrace, tell me what is the matter?
You won't play ball, pitcher or catcher, centerfield or be the batter
Still the sun shines through the window sill and you're just a ratterIt was just another day at the old salt mine
you turned my smiling melody into a dreadful frown
when you showed up in that slick black evening gown
shattering my fragile heart as you strode off into townOnce you swerved at my feet tripping me up in the dead of night
Chasing after theoretical strings, crazy as Alice's maddening hatter
I was slaving away to earn us a living while you just got fatter n fatter
Get out of my car little pet, you're driving me nuts with your pitter patterIt was a cold and rainy day at the gin mill
Like you owned the place, purring in your royal crown
Distilling my suffered end, my odd given right to drown
I tell you once again little cat, SCAT! Meow is not a noun!

That was lovely John. I saw the cat 2:23 minutes, and then thought that at the end the cat was playing some of the bars. very cute.
RYC: I DID see your kitty! Kitties like to play music, too!
Do you have to give co-writing credit?!
what a great cat - it loves you <3 I've been playing your music over and over, two people have asked what I'm listening to, I lie and say spotify...they liked your music too! Now I'm worried about getting into the celestial city...well...not really....thanks for the blessings!
Lol!! Kitty cats can be a nuisance, and at the same time purrfectly loving.....
they always think the gula is pretty but they're too shy to talk to them when you are there. LOL
I would say it's a poem but I don't really understand them.
I see it's about a cat in the end.
You are a true poet and artist. I am just an old retired businessman fumbling at poetry for the first time. lol
Beautiful. We owned a blued eyed Siamese dark brown cat once--he was from a divorcing couple who not keep him. He was a great cat.

Nice! But didn't you post this before or some iteration of it? It does seem vaguely familiar! (though still a really good one that conjures fond memories of past pets)
Oh! The combo of one of your fun, creative poems and you playing one of your beautiful musical creations, "Capture"!
I love both!
I like the way you did the rhythm of the rhyming words in your poem! It made it fun to read aloud!
HUGS!!!
