  • Cheap Bar Gin

    Xanga 2.0 is nothing more than a watered down version of the original Xanga, like cheap bar gin, watered down, with no kick. We can't get drunk on this.

  • I agree also with you to regret the ancient Xanga . In fact we are on WordPress and now they tell me I have to organize my site for instance to put a side bar . I follow their instructions and nothing happens /
    On xabnga I never used themes but there was an automatic side bar . When I think I have paid for that!!! .
    The only one interest, as I said in a previous comment , is to keep in touch with a group of friends such you ,John..
    Besides I do not use facebook : too much voracious in time !

    little streets in the towns, small villages and also using anonymous trails to know what I will find around
    But nowadays the hour of departure and the hour of arrival are determined and most of the time you have just time to make the travel

  • I've heard that some people still can't access their accounts. They have tried to contact Xanga Team through other mediums but they get no reply.

  • And they don't even have a full wordpress platform running. That was the big promise. SHeesh, the editing capability is horrid. And the dashboard is useless....

    not a happy camper. But I did port all my stuff over to a different service so at least I have all my posts, and they are easily searched by date over there.

    And the photos... what's up with the photos. No albums, it's awful. Not a happy camper.

    Drunk.. I think you've found something other than Xanga to get drunk on.

  • We may not get drunk, tis true, but we have our past blogs saved for us and we can still socialize with some friends; That is why many of us continued on here. I'm glad we at least have that.

  • I am hoping it gets better. My understanding is that it will and it is like some kind of process. Oh well. I see a few dear friends are still here.

    I'm thinking about sinking ships a bit. And the Italian cruise ship. There, at least, they told the Captain in no uncertain terms to get back on board till the last victim left. i almost suspect there is a lifeboat somewhere off NY harbour as we speak, with 'John' and the rest of 'em' dressed for the Bahamas already. Oh, and 50,000 in cash in waterproof bags.

    Do you know I am the only Frenchman on Xanga . It was a way to know better America and to befriend with a lot of American and Canadian people . Alas many of them left to go to facebook , others are tired and other are in heaven ( I have the list ). But I still have enough friend to continue on the way.

    Whenever I sign on here...things seem worse instead of better. Like today...a few of the people I was "following" have disappeared from my list and I need to figure out how to re-follow them.

    Also, my Dashboard page is often a blank. :-(

    Oh well! We have no where to go but UP!!! :-D And I like UP!!! :-P

  • It's horrible! Even if it was free to blog it would be bad. I wonder if it will ever get back the old functions that Xanga had.

  • They should have just used the wp platform and give us the sign in and followers lock and maybe a like button. The notifications and replies would have worked and everyone would have adjusted to the system as did the other xangas on wp. One of the good things about wp is that users are able to comment from different areas and get a notification then comment from where ever the comment came from.

    Not a drinker but I used to and know what you mean.
